What a great morning... Went for a great 3 mile rain run (my 1st since the Half last Sun)... Showered, dropped my rent w/ Steve & Ms. V and skipped to work (major non late fee shouts to your fav, least Daz Diligent tenant!)... So, anyway, I'm in the Gorillas in the Mist frame of mind, avoiding "Um-ba-rella" congestion and feelin' good... I get a coffee jones, so I stops by Starbucks on Spring and Crosby... Done deal... Now I realize I'm hungry from the run as I pass a Subway (not of the transit persuasion... Cool beans, I'll grab a sandwich... BET... Now I'm walking down Lafayette holding an "Um-ba-rella", a Starbuck's 1/2 cafe and a Subway sandwich and I realize WHAT AN IDIOT I AM! I'm in nYc drinking Starbucks and about to consume a Subway sandwich... WHAT A DICK! What an insult to this wonderful city... I look and feel like an outsider for the 1st time in my 128 months here... Fuck that! I could be downing a coffee from Cafe Dante (www.caffe-dante.com) and a delicious sandwich from the Italian Food Center(186 Grand Street - shouts to The Pellican's fav, "FIREMAN SPECIAL")...
So, I vow after my ridiculous decisions this morning, to avoid these chain gang crack spots that are eating away at a truely couture city, and support the people that make my life unique... IT's all of our duties to keep this place from becoming a strip mall...
oh, and a major Fuck You! to The Cheesecake Factory on Houston... I hope u guys fail miserably and your families suffer for it... I'm not bitter, lots of love...
