I go by the general definition of the word, "a person whose work exhibits exceptional skill". Fuck the dumb shit, 1 or 2 hot recs IS NOT 'exceptional skill'... You are competing w the best of the best mah dooods (thx Dok), 1 name ninjas and such... - Basquiat, Lennon, Stella, Riley, Cobain, Ertegun, Deniro, Ali, NAS, LaGuardia, etc, etc... This elite group stumbles, soothes & amazes us though out their lives...
I say all of that to say this... Next time you see a real artist, don't sweat 'em, just tell 'em u appreciate them... I'll go 1st... WHUT UP'S to Common & U.G.K. for 2 damn solid LP's... U guys been in the game a minute and are still doin' what u do besssss and not chumpin' out...
