The houses are getting new energy-efficient fluorescent light bulbs. About 10,000 compact bulbs were donated recently to the New York City Housing Authority for the project.
The Queensbridge development has more than 1,600 apartments in it's 13 buildings and is home to more than 3,500 New Yorkers.
